Plaintiff-appellee Independent Lift Truck Builders Union ("the Union") is the representative union for the employees of defendant-appellant NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc., ("NACCO"). In May 1998, the Union filed this suit against NACCO seeking a court order requiring NACCO to arbitrate a dispute over NACCO's right to make unilateral changes to retiree medical benefits.
