The State charged that J.R.C., a juvenile, committed the offense of possession of cocaine. See Tex. Health & Safety Code Ann. § 481.115(d) (West Supp.2000). After overruling his motion to suppress evidence, the district court sitting as a juvenile court adjudicated J.R.C. to have engaged in delinquent conduct and ordered that he be placed in the custody of the Texas Youth Commission.
