The defendant, Timothy Plain, was charged by bill of information with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1. He pled not guilty. He moved to suppress physical evidence, inculpatory statements and/or confessions, but the motion was denied. Following a bench trial, he was found guilty as charged. He was sentenced to ten years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence...
