Defendant, Debra Bennett, was charged by grand jury indictment with second-degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:30.1. Following a jury trial, she was convicted as charged and sentenced to imprisonment for life at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
