The defendant, Rickey D. Clark, was charged by bill of information with possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance, i.e., two hundred grams or more, but less than four hundred grams of cocaine, a violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967 A(1) and F(1)(b). After a jury trial, the defendant was found guilty as charged and sentenced to serve twenty years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. For the following...
