Kristopher Schoening was charged by bill of indictment, along with four co-defendants, with committing five counts of aggravated rape, in violation of La.R.S. 14:42, and one count of armed robbery, in violation of La.R.S. 14:64. The bill was amended on September 19, 1999 to charge each defendant with one count of aggravated rape. The armed robbery count was charged only against co-defendant Michael Guillory. Schoening pled not guilty and
