On July 28, 1998, the Defendant, Peter Wright, was charged by a bill of information with attempted first degree murder, in violation of La.R.S. 14:27 and 14:30(A)(3). The bill was amended on October 13, 1998 to charge Defendant with two counts of aggravated battery in violation of La.R.S. 14:34. Following a trial on November 18, 1998, the jury returned a verdict of guilty as charged to count one and a responsive verdict of guilty of second degree...
