Late one summer evening, appellants were crossing Duke Ellington Bridge in a car. They accosted two women walking along the bridge and robbed and pistol-whipped one of the women.

The principal issues on appeal have to do with the trial court's refusal to suppress evidence of "show-up" identifications and the contents of a clutch purse seized on a "plain view" theory. Both involve somewhat unusual factual features. First, the show...
