Defendant was convicted upon a jury verdict of assault in the first degree (Penal Law § 120.10 [1]) for intentionally causing serious physical injury to his 2½-year-old son by burning him with scalding water and assault in the second degree (Penal Law § 120.05 [1]) for beating him. Defendant's contention that the evidence is legally insufficient to support the conviction is not preserved for our review...
