BAKER, J.

Douglas Rivers was convicted of first degree assault and sentenced within the standard range. On appeal, Rivers argues that the prosecutor engaged in misconduct by making improper comments, primarily during closing argument, which prejudiced his right to a fair trial.1 We agree, and therefore reverse.
