In this appeal, the defendant, the State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), asserts the trial court erred in awarding damages to the plaintiff, Abigail Farbe. Farbe also appeals contending that the trial court erred in assessing only 20% of the damages rather than 50% to DOTD and also contends her award for future medical expenses should be increased from $20,000 to $75,000.
