This appeal requires us to examine whether a trial judge's absolute bar of all side-bar conferences during trial is an appropriate exercise of discretion. We conclude that it is not. The application of the bar in this case facilitated the improper admission of evidence as to plaintiff's negligence which, despite a curative instruction, so prejudiced plaintiff...
