CARTER, C.J.

Defendant, Charles James Mitchell, III, was charged by bill of information with two counts of attempted first degree murder, violations of LSA-R.S. 14:27 and 14:30. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty of one count of attempted first degree murder,1 and sentenced to twenty years at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. LSA-R.S. 14:27 D(1) and 14:30 C.
