A Jackson County, Missouri, jury convicted George B. Harris of first degree murder and armed criminal action. Harris was sentenced to die for the crime. Following an unsuccessful motion for post-conviction relief, the Supreme Court of Missouri affirmed Harris's conviction and sentence. See State v. Harris, 870 S.W.2d 798(Mo.)
