STEWART, J.

The defendant, Jerry Walker, Jr., appeals his conviction and sentence of life imprisonment for the crime of one count of possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance ("CDS"), a violation of La. R.S. 40:967(C). The trial court imposed the life sentence after adjudicating the defendant a fourth felony offender. For the reasons set forth herein, we affirm the defendant's conviction, but we vacate his adjudication as a fourth felony offender...
