Appellant, Lyle Joseph Nystrom, was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder for the killing of Sam Caffey and was sentenced to life in prison. On appeal, appellant argues that the trial court erred by sustaining the prosecutor's objection to testimony from appellant's expert concerning crime statistics and criminal activity in the community where the murder occurred.
