The plaintiff, a former mathematics teacher at Wellesley High School,1 brought an action against the town of Wellesley alleging that he was denied tenure because of age in violation of G. L. c. 151B, § 4, par. 1B, when he was not reappointed for the 1992-1993 academic year.2
