On November 20, 1998, plaintiff Anthony Lamont, an Asian American, filed a one-count complaint against defendant MSX International, in Wayne County Circuit Court, alleging race discrimination in violation of Michigan's Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act ("Elliott-Larsen").
