On August 20, 1997, defendants Edward Burton and George Simon were charged by bill of information with armed robbery, La. R.S. 14:64. They were arraigned on August 25, 1997, and pled not guilty. On September 17, 1997, a twelve-person jury found the defendants guilty as charged.
