In September 1995, American National Can Company ("ANC") permanently closed its Gateway plant in Pevely, Missouri, and transferred Terry E. Barlow and other employees to its plant in St. Louis. In November 1995, many St. Louis Plant employees, including Barlow, were laid off as part of a reduction in force.
