Sharon Prince brought this 42 U.S.C. § 1983 suit against Jan Hicks and others for alleged violations of her rights under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments. Prince was arrested and detained for allegedly kidnaping her infant grandson. Hicks, a state prosecutor, filed a motion to dismiss Prince's § 1983 suit for failure to state a claim, asserting absolute immunity. The district court divided...
