Defendant, Louis Alexander, was charged by bill of information with seven counts of armed robbery in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64 stemming from armed robberies of businesses on the West Bank. At his arraignment, he entered a plea of not guilty and was subsequently tried before a twelve person jury, which returned verdicts of guilty on counts one, two, four, six and seven.
