On March 17, 1998, a jury found Gaylen Maurice Jackson guilty of violating 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1) as a felon in possession of a firearm. Jackson was sentenced to 240 months in prison and five years of supervised release. On appeal, Jackson asserts that police officers seized him in violation of his Fourth Amendment rights and that the resulting evidence seized and statements made should be suppressed as fruits of the poisonous tree.
