On 19 May 1997, defendant was convicted of first degree murder under the theories of premeditation and deliberation and felony murder and possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was sentenced to life imprisonment for the first degree murder conviction and he received a concurrent two-year sentence in a consolidated judgment for the offenses of possession of cocaine and possession...
