The prosecutor appeals as of right the October 1, 1997, judgment of sentence pertaining to defendant's conviction of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree involving a child under thirteen years of age, M.C.L. § 750.520c(1)(a); MSA 28.788(3)(1)(a). Defendant was found guilty by a jury of touching a seven-year-old girl on the buttocks several after he helped her across a creek at a campground. Defendant was a stranger to the girl....
