Defendants Lachelle Wyche (Wyche) and Auto Rental Systems, Inc. (Auto Rental) appeal, contending the trial court erred by allowing certain medical testimony and denying their motions for directed verdict pursuant to N.C.G.S. § 1A-l, Rule 50(a) (1990) (Rule 50(a)). We disagree as to the first contention, but conclude denial of the Rule 50(a) motions constituted error.
