At his jury trial, the People introduced evidence establishing that on June 9, 1997, defendant attempted to murder his former girlfriend, Cindia Maldonado, by slashing her numerous times and that on June 17, 1997, he attempted to kill Maldonado's mother, Miriam Fernandez, and stepfather...
