Petitioner appeals as of right the probate court's order granting respondent's motion for summary disposition with respect to her claim against the estate of her former live-in companion. We affirm.

The decedent died without a will, leaving three heirs at law. Petitioner, a nonrelative, lived with the decedent from 1989 until his death in 1997. Petitioner testified that the decedent asked her to "take up housekeeping with him" in 1989 because...
