LANDAU, J.

The defendant, Thomas Edward Ford, appeals from a postdissolution judgment holding him in wilful contempt and entering orders addressed to his alimony arrearage. The dispositive issue on appeal arises from the trial court's denial of a motion for recusal. We must decide whether, under the circumstances of this case, the trial judge's continuing to preside at the hearing created an appearance of impropriety, which required his recusal...
