A group of working interest owners in certain oil and gas leases sued the estate of a former operator of the leases, seeking to recover losses they incurred in prior litigation involving a farmout agreement. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the working interest owners for $4,261,000 in actual damages and $20,000 in punitive damages.
