The defendant, Gerhard P. Hutter, appeals from a default judgment, rendered by the trial court, in favor of the plaintiff, Brunswick School, Inc. The defendant claims that the trial court improperly (1) rendered judgment in accordance with the attorney trial referee's report and (2) awarded interest in violation of public policy, specifically General Statutes § 37-4, and (3) deprived the defendant of his right to "a day in court...
