Melinda Williams incurred nearly $10,000 in medical expenses associated with the birth of her son. After the child was born, she obtained a paternity judgment against the debtor, John Kemp. As part of the judgment Williams was awarded $4,821 to cover the debtor's share of hospital and medical costs associated with the child's birth. Ultimately, Williams was required to turn to her parents for assistance in paying the hospital...
