On July 25, 1995, a Suffolk County grand jury returned indictments charging the defendant, Frank M. Robinson, with murder in the first degree, kidnapping, armed robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, and conspiracy. On September 10, 1996, the defendant's trial on all the indictments, except conspiracy, commenced in Suffolk County.
