Over her plea of not guilty, a judge found appellant, Patty Busby Carter, guilty of possession of less than one gram of a controlled substance, namely cocaine. See TEX. HEALTH & SAFETY CODE ANN. § 481.115 (Vernon Supp.1999). The judge sentenced her to nine years imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
