In this case a public utility contracted with a municipality to install and maintain the city's streetlights, including a lamp illuminating a marked crosswalk on one of the city's busiest thoroughfares. But when the streetlight broke the utility failed to repair it for over five months. We consider the issue whether the utility owed a duty to pedestrians using that crosswalk and thus was liable to a person struck by an automobile while crossing the street...
