From 1974 through 1995 defendant George J. Pulver, Jr. was a partner in a law firm formerly known as Pulver and Stiefel (hereinafter the law firm), during which time he also served as Greene County Attorney. His last two appointments by the County Legislature to three-year terms of office occurred in 1989 and 1992 and, as compensation for the performance of his duties as County Attorney, he received an annual salary.
