On May 13, 1989, appellant Charles McNelton approached Monica Glass in Las Vegas and shot her in the head, killing her. McNelton v. State, 111 Nev. 900, 902, 900 P.2d 934, 935 (1995), cert. denied, 517 U.S. 1212, 116 S.Ct. 1833, 134 L.Ed.2d 937 (1996).
