This matter arises from an automobile accident on Interstate 10. The defendant's vehicle crossed the median, striking the plaintiffs vehicle on the driver's side. After the impact, the plaintiffs vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the interstate and caught fire. For injuries resulting from the accident, the plaintiff brought suit, and a jury awarded the plaintiff $55,500.00 for general damages plus $44,500.00 for special damages. The plaintiff...
