The defendant, Robert Charles Allen, pled guilty to the charge of battery of a police officer in violation of La. R.S. 14:34.2(B)(3), a felony punishable by imprisonment with or without hard labor for not less than one year nor more than five years. The district court sentenced the defendant to serve four years at hard labor with credit for time served.
