OPINION

KIRSCH, Judge.

After a jury trial, Dwight Douglas Jelks was convicted of auto theft,1 a Class D felony and was adjudged to be a habitual offender.2 He now appeals, presenting the following issues for review:

I. Whether the trial court erred when in the course of polling the jury it engaged in an extended colloquy regarding the elements of the charged crime, the State's burden of proof...
