The Jefferson Parish Grand Jury returned an indictment charging the defendant, Kenneth Simmons, with the second degree murder of Robert Harris, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. The matter proceeded to trial before a twelve person jury, at the conclusion of which the defendant was found guilty as charged. The court subsequently sentenced the defendant to the mandatory term of life imprisonment...
