This is an appeal from a wrongful death case. The Appellees are the survivors of Gregorio, Maria, and Gregorio Gutierrez, Jr., who were killed when their car was struck by a train operated by the Appellants.1 The jury awarded approximately $16.5 million in compensatory damages and $44 million in punitive damages.
