On August 23, 1995, the defendant, Mitchell Arrington, was charged by bill of information with aggravated battery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:34. At his arraignment on August 28, 1995, the defendant entered a plea of not guilty. After a jury trial on January 17, 1996, the defendant was found guilty as charged.
