This case concerns the temporary custody of three children who were allegedly abused by their mother and stepfather, with whom they were residing. On November 1, 1999, the Department of Children and Families filed a Detention Petition alleging the children had been abandoned, abused, neglected, or suffered injury or illness, including alleged sexual battery by the stepfather and physical abuse by the mother.
