A jury found that appellant, a juvenile, did engage in delinquent conduct by committing the offense of capital murder. See Tex. Fam. Code Ann. § 54.03 (West 1996); Tex. Penal Code Ann. § 19.03 (West 1994). Appellant waived his right to have the jury determine his disposition, and the juvenile court assessed a 17-year determinate sentence.
