Appellant Old Republic Surety Company ("Old Republic") challenges the entry of a $1,000 judgment against it in favor of the estate of Henry Dickson. The award was based on a nominal bond which Old Republic had issued to Addie Anglin, the former personal representative of the estate, pursuant to D.C.Code § 20-502(a) (1989).
