I. INTRODUCTION

Fifteen-year-old Joshua Van Bavel was killed when the car he was driving hit a utility pole. Joshua's mother, Sherie Ardinger, sued fourteen-year-old Normandy Hummell for negligent entrustment. The jury found that Normandy was not liable. Ardinger appeals on several grounds, and Normandy cross-appeals.
