Kenneth Trahan was charged by bill of information on May 16, 1996, with vehicular homicide, a violation of La. R.S. 14:32.1. At his arraignment on June 17, 1996, he pleaded not guilty. The trial court found probable cause and denied the motion to suppress the evidence on July 19, 1996. On April 28, 1997, the day set for trial, the defendant withdrew his plea of not guilty and entered a plea of guilty as charged after being advised of his rights...
