David C. Bishop ("Bishop") originally filed this action against Bell Atlantic Corporation ("Bell Atlantic") in the Maine Superior Court of Hancock County, where he alleged retaliation and discrimination with regard to his compensation, terms, conditions, and privileges of employment, in violation of the Maine Whistleblowers' Protection Act ("MWPA" or "Whistleblowers' Act"), 26 M.R.S.A § 831
