In this medical malpractice action, the defendant, Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word d/b/a Schumpert Medical Center ("Schumpert"), appeals a judgment in favor of the plaintiffs, Doyle and Helen Yokem. The district court overruled defendant's exception of prematurity, finding that the plaintiffs had satisfied the statutory requirements by filing their suit within ninety days after receiving a dismissal notice from the Patients' Compensation...
